Personal Mission: To create harmony by loving and nurturing himself and others into wholeness and integrity.

Action in the World: Stephan has lived his mission by creating and running the HEAL Foundation (Humans Everywhere Allied in Love), an educational nonprofit that publishes books and sponsors conferences, workshops, and spiritual events that support positive change. (http://www.healfoundation.org/) HEAL is one of the sponsors of the annual Gandhi - King Conference on Peacemaking that is held in Memphis. Stephan also created and runs Aikido at the Center, a school where he practices and teaches Aikido, a system of self-defense that is based on love and creates harmony from conflict. (http://www.aikidoatthecenter.com/) He has reached out from the ManKind Project - Memphis community to include other groups in the larger community in our multicultural awareness work. He co-leads workshops on mindful communication, healthy relationships, and community building. He works in circles committed to mature masculinity, multicultural awareness, and recovery. He has written a book, Seeking Self - An Inner Journey to Healthy Relationships, which is a guidebook to self-awareness in which he tells his own story of healing and transformation and teaches relationship skills and tools.
